Welcome to our blog

The Hughes family-August 2008
Ok...so several of my friends have these awesome blogs to show off pictures of their kids and tell what is going on with their families. So I am thinking..."I can do this too right?" We shall see... Since we are entering a new phase in our household I thought it would be a perfect time to start. Joshua has entered 1st grade already! I am mixed with excitedment for him and also a little sadness that my baby boy is growing so fast. So he leaves us girls home alone in the morning...it's pretty quiet with him gone. Nicole stands outside in the yard waving goodbye to him as he gets on the bus. It's very sweet. Nicole asks me every morning if it is her day to go to school and she is waiting anxiously to start preschool next Wednesday. She is going to school two days a week for four hours each day. Not sure what I am going to do with only one kid but I am sure Erika and I will find something to do.
This is Joshua with his friend Luke at the bus stop on the first day of school. I tried to get a picture of him getting on the bus but he was so excited and jumped on that bus so fast I missed him. It was so great to watch him wave goodbye to us so happy and proud of himself. I just wish I were faster with the camera!
We tried something new this year...the Indiana State Fair. The mistake we made was going right after the first day of school. It was a beautiful night to be there and the kids had a blast but I had to drag Joshua out of bed in the morning for school. Too late for a school night. It's just so hard to let go of summer already...Especially on August 13th. The kids had a blast playing on the "hands on" farm.
